Bek Frenzy
Monday, January 5th, 2009Play date
Wednesday, December 31st, 2008Bek and I had a nice lunch with our mommy and baby friends the other day - Belinda & Kayden (left) and Rebecca & Robbie (right.) Kayden and Robbie are quite handsome baby boys. I think the three of them will have a blast playing together when they get a bit older. Right now if Bek gets too close she would just try to chew on them.
Visit with Lexey
Sunday, December 21st, 2008Last Wednesday Bek got another round of shots so I stayed home with her expecting that she’d be feeling under the weather. Lexey had the day off too so she came over for a visit. Thankfully, Bek didn’t have much of a reaction so the three of us had a great time enjoying each other’s company. And, of course, Lexey took a bunch of fabulous photos.
We started out the day with a little shopping. Bek is about 15 lbs now so her 3 months outfits are getting tight. She still swims a bit in the 6 months, but since she’s started protesting getting dressed baggier is easier than snug to put on.
We ate awesome tacos, she played with plastic fork wrapper.
But even the cool bag can’t keep a hungry baby happy forever.
Back at the house Bek wanted to show off her totally awesome new skills - sitting all by herself.
Falling….
and grabbing her cute little toes.
Oops..a little spit-up.
Bek loves to play with Lexey and even though she only gets to see her once a month it’s like they’ve never been apart. She tends to have stranger anxiety, even with people she has met before. She must see the things that I love about Lexey too. Or the freckles make her think we are related. ;) This last picture is from October when Bek was 3 months old.
First Thanksgiving
Monday, December 1st, 2008This year we spent Thanksgiving with fellow Florida orphans Nathan and Mande White and their dog Penelope. They were great hosts and stuffed us with fabulous food. Next year I’m hoping they’ll teach me the secrets of cooking a Thanksgiving meal since I’ve yet to do it myself.
While there, Rebekah experienced a couple “firsts” on her first Thanksgiving.
First time sitting on grass. (Only her feet have touched it once before.)
Cold and prickly on her chubby legs, it didn’t make a good impression.
First doggie kiss. She loved it.
First time she started a game of peek-a-boo.
She was quite proud of herself, as were we.
Well, this wasn’t the first time she’s gagged herself with her fingers but it is pretty darn cute anyway.
After all that adventure it was time to crash in the warm arms of a good friend.
